Manufacturing Estimator
John R. Bromiley Co Inc is an ISO/AS9100 certified company searching for a self motivated individual to play a significant role in our contract manufacturing process. This is a highly visible position to authority in a small company atmosphere with focus on results and team unity. This is a new position created at the company to increase the quotation throughput.
Responsibilities:
- Locate and download Government solicitations that match company’s NAIC, FSC codes and capabilities.
- Review prints and solicitation documents in order to accurately collect raw material costs, outside service costs and develop internal machining time cycles to manufacture the part complete.
- Develop efficient and effective manufacturing processes for aerospace components and assemblies including design and development of tools, fixtures design, and process flow.
- Communicate with commercial and government customers to obtain bidding information on materials, due dates, quality/process specs and shipping requirements to produce a profitable bid on the RFQ.
- Coordinate with production for timely status reports and completion dates, maintain records on open bids, lost bids using E2 Shoptech and/or Micro Estimating software.
- Assist in review of completed jobs for future estimates and profitability.
- Assist in ISO/AS requirements for conducting Supplier Surveys.
Requirements:
- At least 10 years of estimating precision machine parts in aerospace, medical or military manufacturing.
- Full understanding of the machining process, including speeds and feeds and knowing what tooling to use to maximize our machines capabilities.
- Knowledge of general business administration and an excellent command of the Machining Data Handbook.
- Strong math aptitude, including trigonometry and all aspects of geometric tolerancing.
- Analytical ability to gather data for costing, find solutions to various manufacturing problems, and prioritize work.
- Proficient use of computers, including MS Office including Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook.
- Ability to efficiently use time, manage multiple projects simultaneously, establish priorities and meet deadlines.
- High level of diplomacy in approach with customers, coworkers and vendors.
- Be organized and know how to negotiate/ follow up for the best possible outcome of the RFQ.
- Knowledge of E2 Shoptech Software or Micro Estimating Software a plus.
