John R. Bromiley Company Inc is an AS9100 Certified company searching for experienced and highly skilled CNC Machinists to join our team. They should possess strong manufacturing qualities for a fast paced atmosphere and be able to work as a team to expand company’s machining capabilities.
Positions Available:
- Setup/Program Horizontal Mills
- Setup/Program CNC Swiss
- Nightshift Foreman
- CNC Lathe and Mill Operators (Dayshift and Nightshift)
- Deburring / Parts Finishing (call for details)
General Description:
- Primary responsibility for machinist is to set up and program CNC machines.
- Accurately reads and understands blueprints and engineering drawings to ensure proper setup requirements, sequence of operations, dimensions and tolerance levels of finished product.
- Diagnoses and rectifies tooling problems and machine malfunctions.
- Monitors machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow, and depth and angle of cut.
- Sets up and operates preliminary runs to verify accuracy, provides feedback for process improvements.
- Provides recommendations to improve production methods and best use of equipment and tooling.
- Performs in-process inspections on parts using precision measuring instruments and gauges.
- Confers with engineers, programmers, and production management to resolve machining and issues.
- Maintains work area in a neat and orderly manner. Observes safety rules and company policies.
- Mentors other machinists and performs other duties as assigned in a spirit of teamwork and cooperation.
Requirements
- At least 5 years machining experience or diploma from an accredited certified program.
- Ability to understand blueprints and engineering drawings.
- Ability to apply basic algebra, geometry, and trigonometry concepts that apply to machining.
- Ability to meet physical demands of the job, including but not limited to: frequent standing and walking; frequent climbing and balance on large equipment; frequent stooping; kneeling; bending; and crouching; frequent lifting or moving up to 20 lbs; occasional lifting or moving up to 75 lbs.
- Strong safety, quality, and teamwork orientation with track record of dependability.
- Experience with SolidWorks, SolidCam, Smartcam and/or Partmaker software is an added plus.
- Must have own tools.
Our 38 year old company is an ISO9001 and AS9100 certified shop residing in a modern, air conditioned facility. The benefits package includes choices of Aetna health plans, with short term disability & optional dental insurance. Available after 1 year, we contribute to the 401(k) 25% of a dollar up to 4% of salary. Scaled vacation time based on time employed. There is a 10% premium for second shift.
